Knurr racks consistently provide the handiness and solid construction of robust 19" racks with high-end features and standardized options that are designed to provide speedy customization for the custom needs of any particular site. The racks have been designed to optimize the air flow and maximize useful mounting spaces.

Knurr designed a product which met many of our requirements.

The basis for this is information is in the form-oriented and function-oriented compatibility throughout the product ranges and among each of the product families. Several products (such as display work stations & command work stations) could easily be supplemented and combined with others, for instance LAN racks or mobile equipment racks.

Due to tested (not to mention certified) product platforms, customer specific solutions were arrived at both quickly and economically.

Business Unit Rack + Bus Systems is the biggest division within the Knurr Group. In this division, our long-standing know-how and product expertise focuses on the development of standardised designs for the electronics sector. The results: 19" racks and cabinets, 19" enclosures and 19" chassis and subracks, desktop enclosures and state-of-the-art VME-bus and compactPCI systems which provide the basis for the integration of valuable electronic equipment.

Outdoors:
From aerial inserts to the main switching center or operation maintenance center, the Tecoras product range covers the whole spectrum of telecommunications, traffic management and also control/environmental technologies. The Tecoras outdoor product platform will provide you with every feature necessary to have a professional network operation, including the all important certified safety. Our enclosures systems have been manufactured and subsequently tested according to the international standards that were current at the time of their creation. The systems can all be individually configured. They have the same kinds of modules available in various depths and heights. They can be arranged and rearranged to form many different combinations. Our air conditioning concepts take full account of customer requirements: we provide a fantastic range of cooling units, heat exchangers and also heating units... for any climate.

Mobility without risk:
In close cooperation, over many years, with the telecommunications and defence industry and with the procurement departments of armed forces in Switzerland, Knurr AG was able to develop a high degree of expertise in responding to the requirements of both indoor and outdoor applications. The INCAS housing is one product arising from this. The bent profile frame of the housing provides it with extreme stability despite its low weight.

Built in equipment is known to be protected optimally against shock and vibration by an arrangement of vibration dampers that are placed on the frame. Thanks to their ability to be stacked as they are, INCAS provide an very clever arrangement for saving space during transport and/or storage. Another clever feature is the recessed handles, and yet another is that the closing mechanisms largely prevent any harm to the item that could impede optimal and correct function. INCAS are made from aluminium sheet (AlMg 3); they abide by the following criteria:

Waterproofing testing: IP 65 in accordance with DIN 40050/IEC 529;
Temperature testing: MIL-STD-810 C method 501.1 (high), method 502.1 (low), method 503.1 (cycling);
Humidity testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810 C method 507.1;
Salt spray in accordance with MIL-STD-810 C method 509.1;
Vibration testing according to MIL-STD-810 E method 514.4-1,
Shock testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810 E
Free fall in accordance with MIL-STD-810 C method 516.2 procedure II;
Endurance shock (15g/6ms 4000 impact cycles); and
EMC testing in accordance with VG95373 part 15.

Simply put, protection from dust, water, climatic influences and shock are never more important than during the transportation of such sensitive products as data media, mobile computers, measurement instruments, and telephonic and radio equipments. Even if the cabinet is submerged in waters that measure up to 1 m deep, nothing inside will become wet. Yet, the new waterproof welded cases (WDS) or Incas not only protect your 19" equipment against water, humidity and steam, but also against aggressive media such as oil, acid or salt water.

Transportation will continue to stay convenient due to the fact that the empty weight is incredibly light. What about the event of exposure to severe shock? No problem. Due to the prominent shock absorbing rubberized corners, the valuable contents that are being transported will not be harmed in any way. The durable aluminium case in conjunction with a pair of profiles (between the enclosure and the cover) ensures safety and security.
